My name is Colette. I create decorative glass pieces in the peace and beauty of the Kerry countryside.
I love the flexibility (yes really) of glass; how simple materials can be altered through heat and time to create something unique and full of character.
Each piece of glass is cut by hand to give individuality, assembled then fired in a kiln. I resist that sneaky peek to allow everything to cool before lifting the kiln lid. I might add more colour or texture before firing again and finishing with a hanging ribbon, magnet or frame.
I attended a Start your own Business course through Kerry Local Enterprise Office, provided by TalentPool. What a great course. The time away from my business each week has helped me focus on what I need to do to make it a success. Its great to get professional advice in a friendly environment with follow-up support available. I know what to do, I’ve just got to do it!
