My name is Lorna Anne Tierney, from Kildare, and I am a plant-powered climate activist and one cailíni of @earthy_cailini on Instagram. The Earthy Marketplace is my brainchild which, after many months of developing the idea, I managed to launch with the help of Web Developer extraordinaire Ed on 16-Nov-21! Later adding to this with the launch of our very own EARTHY app which is available to download to your device for free from Google Play.
The Earthy Marketplace is the first of its kind All-Ireland Resource Hub for Conscious Consumerism. We are not a directory - meaning we do not claim to or aim to have every related business listed on our Site, however, we do aim to provide our users with a broad and diverse range of businesses and organisations providing wonderful conscious alternatives and Services to discover, together in one place! Unlike anywhere else currently available so we can be the best possible resource to help the Irish public to live more consciously!
We are a subscription-based Service. We have created a Membership price plan that we believe is both fair and excellent value for the many Services on offer to help spotlight and promote businesses and organisations who join The Earthy Marketplace.

The Earthy Marketplace is a unique concept with a broad and ambitious scope to help promote different cohorts of conscious businesses Ireland-wide and the ethical, Earth-friendly alternatives they can provide people. The Earthy Marketplace is an ever-expanding conscious community with a drive to provide the Irish public with sustainable and ethical alternatives that push back against the culture of overconsumption and pack a positive purchasing punch instead! At The Earthy Marketplace we're all about promoting a more conscious lifestyle and all that that encompasses, therefore, additionally we decided to pay it forward and offer our Service for free to promote the essential work being done across Ireland by conscious/environmental groups and organisations (charities, NGO'S, not-for-profits) who do so much in an earnest fight to create a better world for us all.
The three main cohorts of conscious business we feature on The Earthy Marketplace Website and app are:
- Shop Sustainable - A broad range of sustainable businesses Including but not limited to, for example, businesses in areas such as Refillery Zero Waste, Fashion, Children’s toys, Accessories, Beauty, Art, Crafting, Household items, Furniture, etc.
- Farm Finder - Independent Growers selling seasonal, organic produce of the plant variety.
Farming organically means anyone respecting the principles, rules, and requirements of organic farming.
- Earthy Eats - Food places catering 100% vegan or offering vegan options as part of their regular menu.
The term food places can refer to a broad range of businesses that prepare and serve/deliver food to customers. Including but not limited to, for example, Restaurant, Café, Bistro, Food Truck, Bakery, etc.

Meet Our Community - Alongside promoting businesses on TEM and across our social media platforms we have also created a regular promotional series called 'Meet Our Community' via our Youtube Channel. The idea is to allow our users to 'meet' the members of The Earthy Marketplace to help them to get a true sense of the businesses and people behind the businesses that make up The Earthy Marketplace community. Our Member's videos will be shared on our channel as well as posted to the Meet Our Community section of the Site.

The Earthy Marketplace is a resource hub with a drive to connect our national community, while also giving back to nature directly. We believe that to begin to tackle the biodiversity crisis and climate change, we need to start thinking differently and collectively. That's why every month, with the help of our friends over at tree-planting initiative Reforest Nation, we make it our duty to give back to the Irish environment directly by planting native Irish trees every month.
